So it turned up from Japan today

Got it direct from Gruppe M in Japan as it was the cheapest I could find even including postage, handling, customs and import duty.
Unboxed it straight away

I didn’t take any photos and won’t do a how to as there’s many out there. I used this one

Made the process easy. All fitted looks like this

Took it out for a blast and it snarls and growls, don’t know if it’s just the sound but seems to have a more linear pull. Plus with the scoop Dan 6490 made its perfect. Anyway I’m liking it!

Oh wow! And all the way from Japan you say??
Itd be interesting to hear your first impressions of whether you can tell the difference and under what circumstances is most noticeable. Ive been toying with the idea for a while now...

Doesn’t feel like there’s any more power. Feels the power delivery is smoother and snarls under full throttle makes more noise in the lower rev range and less further up the Rev range. Driving normally you can’t tell the difference. Put your foot down and it barks at you. I’m a happy chap, thanks to Mr Wilks for the advice a while back on going this route.

This is one of those ‘premier’ mods everyone wants, but many can’t afford / justify - always love seeing these

Soooooo.... how much did it cost all in ?

£604 to Gruppe M though £35 of that was their delivery cost, then £65 to HMRC in duty etc and Parcel force for handling.
So £669 all in. Though if u live in Japan near the factory they can be had for £569.
Makes you think how much profit CA and alike in the UK are making when they charge between £850 and £1000

Merry Christmas OP  I have a Gruppe M on my RS4 and it transforms the sound of the car. The finish of the carbon fibre is excellent too.

Enjoy, it's a great bit of kit!

Quick question though, did you get a thicker o-ring for the MAF sensor with the kit...looks like you do from one of the pics....?

Yeah did get a thicker o ring. The aluminium spacer that goes over the o ring was a a nice tight seal took some doing. The hardest part was taking off the pegs that the air box fits onto and where the bracket Mounts to

Interesting....I didn't get one of those and I know it's not listed in the official instructions but I have seen others that did....maybe I'll email them about that....

Yup those pegs are a pain in the ass, but good to do it yourself!

Messed one peg up but already got the part number and if I revert back to OEM I’ll get a new pair as they are pretty cheap. Not that I’m planning on that!

This is one of those mods that is a priority for the driving experience, in my eyes. Most other mods can get in the queue.

Certainly, the best mod for the Z4M....always makes you smile when in 3rd gear, give it some beans and the kids all turn around to see what's coming up the road!

The one I have didn't come with an o-ring either.

If you do mail them would you mind letting me know how you got on?

Will do, if I get an email back in English!
Sure I’ve read somewhere before that it’s not necessary but if that’s the case doesn’t make sense some people get it....will see....
