Merry Christmas Z

Cheers! :D

They really do look the balls I think! Sounds good! Just hope that winter doesn't bite back through Jan/Feb

 Very nice indeed - second one tomorrow ? :D

Really liking the shadow chrome M wheels you'd taking off actually...

Il do that thanks! But I'm hoping the snow doesn't come back or it will be in the garage for the foreseeable future! lol

There a dark gun metal grey, but do have a good shimmer on them. I like them too but the CSLs look better

Hmmm in two minds, but I think I prefer the others to the CSL's

Great choice. really like the csl's. Is it possible to find them in shadow chrome/anthracite or wold one have to respray?

You can buy replica CSLs in any finish you like, but the reason I didn't after a lot of advice from the forum and this is what I was told...

You can't be 100% sure of the build quality of all of them, there are a lot of good and a lot of bad. Also they weigh a tonne and seen as tho it is an M car its sacrilege putting replicas on it, as the weight could change the characteristics of the car (handling etc). And the obvious the originals look the balls.

But of corse you can have them resprayed to what ever colour you like, most good companies will take the wheels back to the metal and start again in the finish required. That is what I was going to do, I like the gun metal grey colour on the ones I have and wanted the CSLs to look similar. But these wheels are original paint, never been re-furbed or resprayed and are in incredible condition like brand new. So I was thinking about resale value, would the OEM wheels be worth the same if they had been modified? and would they be as desirable? Then I put them on the car and just thought wow, there is no need. It looks better OEM, and trying to reduce the modified look of my car after some advice from some other forumites.

So the plan is to put them on and live with them for a while and see how I feel in a few months

In that respect I have been looking for 3 months for a set and have only seen 4, 2 of them were in an awful state so I wasn't going to touch them, another pair I couldn't work a deal with the seller and this set I found from a great guy in yorkshire and jumped at them.

So it is quite hard to get hold of a "good set" and i don't want to ruin them, not only for the look of my car but I no I won't own them for ever so don't want to ruin them for the next user.

I'm with sars, those you removed look fantastic on a coupe of the colour you have (and this from someone who has CSLs and uses the OEM wheels only for the track). I wouldn't listen too much to other people who don't like your mods, it's your car and you should have it exactly as you like

tomscott, maybe this has been answered elsewhere but what rear discs do you have? They're grooved instead of drilled so not OEM.

Also i think both sets of wheels look great

Ye the car came as is, the only mods I have made are the alloys and a stubby.

Also the wheels look better in the pics than in the flesh IMO. I like the mods on the car I just think the CSLs make the car more aggressive and tbh I'm not the biggest fan of the Z4M OEM alloys I don't think they do the car justice especially at 18".

They are upgraded discs but I couldn't tell you what the brand is, the guy that had it before upgraded them, but when I rang and asked him what the car has had done to it I didn't ask the brand.

Did you finish installing your CSLs? I'd love to see a picture of the finished product. How is the car handling with the new wheels? Do you notice any difference? Did you make any other mods to suspension, etc?

No i just put the one on front and back to make sure there was no rubbing, because I have H&R lowering springs installed. There was no rubbing so its all good! The tyres that are on the CSLs are bald so need some new ones. I think we may see some bad weather soon anyway... its been lingering around the +1 atm so will wait until early spring! But when I do I will update the post
