Merlot Z4M?

Afternoon All,

Aplogies if this has been discussed before, but I'm planning some upgrades to my beautiful Merlot E85.
Looking at potentially installing a Quad exhaust, which obviously involves having to cut the rear bumper.
I then thought maybe I could source a Merlot bumper off a Z4M, which bring me to the question, were there ever any Merlot Z4M's?

I imagine (if they exist), they are as rare as Unicorn Poo, but just had me wondering on a slow Wednesday.

Jamie.

Certainly looks like you'd need to get a bumper and have it resprayed.

I always think it's a daft idea but each to their own.

Have you thought about just adding //M badges all over the place as that's quite popular too?!

Never seen or heard of a Merlot Z4M. ///M bumpers are not cheap either, plus re-spray will be a tidy sum. Good look with your project. :)

What? - why didn't you point the OP towards these? :poke:

Whilst I 100% agree regarding the badges I think that the Quad exhaust is an aesthetic enhancement and not something done to make a car look like an M. In my opinion the rear looks unbalanced with the exhaust just in one side. In the same way adding a M bonnet or Aeros just make the car look sexier!

Exactly, each to their own, I have no intention of adding M badges anyway as you so helpfully suggested... I'm more than happy to show mine as it is. Personally I prefer the aesthetics of a quad exhaust at the back, and the symmetry. Nothing about making it look like an M..

Here’s my car in your colour with the m bumper. 6DDA6053-2D9A-49E3-85FF-A7D641B9CF86.png

Very nice, big fan of the Merlot tips on the grilles.

Did you spray a M bumper then? We're there any colour differences, or did you go for a whole respray?

I think a Merlot Red with front and rear bumpers with a quad exhaust would look great.

I've always really liked Merlot, so IMHO it's a shame they stopped offering Merlot when the facelift went on sale.

As Lynchy said I reckon a Merlot Z4 with front and rear M bumpers and quad tailpipes would look really good, as well as being possibly unique!

I know what the OP means about symmetry - a tailpipe each side was one of the features I always liked on my 2.8i Capris.
