Merc CLA or Lexus IS...

I had a 250 Cdi CLA for a day and whilst it was not a bad drive I thought it was painfully slow compared to mine, the SLK with the same engine seemed much better.

If you wanted something more fun then I would suggest you look at the A45 AMG

I don't know why Autocar included the Golf as good at it is, irrelevant comparison :roll:

This to me is a more balanced view and the guy hit the nail on the head, BMW = more fun to drive for a load less cash

I'm not a fan of the A Hatch, not sure about the looks, but I do like the CLA.

I test drove an A220 Cdi and an A250 engineered by AMG. I expected the diesel to be more on a par with a 120d but it was more like a 118d and a bit disappointing. The A250 was better but in general the car handled like the engineers had got their maths wrong when doing the chassis. As the chassis is the same on the CLA I can't imagine it's a vast improvement. I think they both look great but unfortunately I wasn't in the market for an ornament.

I had a good look around the CLA when I was in buying the SLK. I thought the rear end styling looked a bit awkward to be honest.

The new E class coupe however, I thought was stunning!
