Members in fife with standard suspension.

I’m looking for a favour. If we have any members in the fife area with standard springs in their motor I would love to come and compare ride heights. Not being weird or anything. Just need to see the clearance on the wheel arches compared to mine. It’s difficult to do it with pictures.
Thanks.

Standard SE or standard Sport? Where abouts in Fife?

Cowdenbeath area. Not sure. I bought mine lowered. When I put 326’s on, they rub. Mr Wilkes has them on his coupe and they don’t rub. I’d just like to stick one on another Zed with the standard ride height to see the difference.

Mr Wilks seems to know his onions where wheels are concerned. I keep toying with changing my wheels but 19s look a bit lost even on Sport springs. Most seem to lower them so should be possible, maybe slight rubbing but nothing major.
If nobody is closer I might be able to help(Falkirk area)

The problem with the 326’s is the offset. They fill the arch perfectly, maybe a bit too perfectly.

I am in the Livingston area and got mine with 19" when I got it but the suspension/wheel set up seems to be all wrong. I get some rubbing on the front at full lock and there is very little clearance above the wheels at the back.

Do you have a picture?

Ill take some in the morning, but your rear wheel looks like it has more clearance. The front wheel archs have been worn away at various points. Been tempted to try more to 18"

Is your car still on its original shocks ? I have an 03 Zed and run 18" MV3s front 8j/et34 and rear 8.5j/et37 with factory tyre sizes. I used to get some rubbing on the front upper arch edge on high speed compression bumps. I have recently fitted new Bilstein B4s all round and the tyres haven't rubbed once since. The original 15 year old Sachs shocks were absolutely shot at and let the car sit both 'artificially' low and weren't doing much 'shock absorbing' at all.

I have 108’s. they are getting refurbed now. I was going to sell the 19’s and just put spacers on with the 18’s, but I do like the 326’s.

did you get your geometry done after fitting new shocks?

What are the specs for the 326’s? And what rubber sizes are you planning to put on?

You will 100% need an alignment session after new springs re the above post.

I remember someone asking if people could measure from their centre caps to the arch, if you can find that it may be of some use. I think it was around a year ago.
