Members car history.

I've had more motorbikes than cars, but my list looks like this in ascending order:

1. Vauxhall Viva Sport! (First car I ever drove on the road. Hired to me by a mate so I had something to drive while I was learning. I never took my car test until I was 28 and that was only through necessity! I wasn't interested in them as they were too slow compared to motorbikes! :P ).

2. Opal Manta Coupe (First car I ever owned. Pre fuel injected model. Great car!).

3. Opel Manta GTE Estate (first one got written off in a motorway shunt!! Not my fault! I was annoyed!!).

3. Ford Escort Van (beat up old one to transport my guitar gear as I was now in a Rock Band!).

4. Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (the Smokey and the Bandit type). 6.6 ltr V8!! (I still had the Escort Van for the shopping car).

5. Ford RS2000 (bull-nose model). Great car! I traded the Trans Am for this (Fuel prices were getting OTT and 12MPG on a run was getting silly!!).

Escort van was killed off. Lent it to my then sister in law while I was away on holiday. It got involved in a head on smash caused by a joy rider!! Driver OK, car written off! (Found out where the joy rider lived. Went round mob handed to get money off him. Joyrider had skipped town)!! Apparently the police did find him as he owed rent to some landlords. They probably just slapped his hand!

RS2000 stolen outside my house!! Shell found 3 days later in a farmers field completely stripped!!

6. Suzuki Jeep SJ1300.

7. Ford Escort Turbo MK 2. Great car!!

8. Ford Probe V6. That was my first purchased new car. (yes I know, a Probe, but it was a good car to drive!).

9. Ford Maverick 4x4.

10. Ford Mondeo ST24. Now that was a good car!

12. MINI Cooper (bought in first year of production. Loads of faults over 7 months. MINI took it back and built me another one for free!!).

11. Second MINI Cooper!

12. Mini Cooper JCW S. (The supercharged one. Still probably the best car I have ever owned and a true A to B fast car! I wish I had kept that!!).

13. Diahatsu Terios 4x4. Bought as a general runaround car. Still have it. It just keeps going!

14. BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe.

15. BMW Z4 E89.

16. Range Rover Evoque.

1) 1988 Fiat Uno turbo 1.3ie (death trap, always stank of petrol)

4) 2001 MG ZR 105+ (the most horrendous car ever, I was pleased to see it go)
5) 2002 Renault Clio 172 (quite fun but seemed dated)

1. Fiat Panda 1000
Put in great service & many miles to/from Uni and to/from early gigs

2. Citroen ZX estate 1.4i
Great car: did 3 years & 70000 miles, didn't even need to change a bulb. Only problem was inflicted by a run in with a fox one night...

3. Citroen Xsara estate 2.0 HDI
Terrible car: multiple electrical & engine management problems with 13 trips to dealer in first three months of ownership.

4. Audi A6 2.4i
First of the curvy A6 saloons. Nice car but start of dubious Audi customer service

5. Audi TT Mk1 S-line (225)
Loved the car, but had terrible customer service from Audi during ownership: hence initial move to BMW

6. BMW 535i (E39) - Great motorway cruiser with a lush V8

7. BMW 530i (E60) - Another fab motorway cruiser with all the toys as first owner had specced the lot including HUD & night vision etc

8. BMW Z4 sDrive35i (2011 E89) - current wheels! Still putting a smile on my face on a regular basis. About to embark on a year long UK theatre tour in it!
