I use quick detailer between washes on a cleaned, polished and waxed car, but only if the traffic film is light dust. If the car is mostly clean, just dusty, it really lifts the dust off and gives it a nice sparkle. Also refreshes the 'beading'. Let's be clear - it is nothing like 2 coats of top quality wax, but you can make your car look peachy in 10 mins. Need to be fast on the bonnet after driving though, and in the sun - hot metal dries it out real fast and it is proper wipe on / off.
I bought some Megs gold class quick wax at the weekend, as I am wax poor right now due to keeping forgetting to get more dodo juice
It is wipe on/off too - the finish was ok, though it seems quite tacky and was trapping fine fibres from my cloth... Had to gently go over the car again afterwards with a completely clean cloth. What was really impressive was when I went out last night and it rained - the beading was very tight. It will last about 4 days though I reckon - the penalty for laziness

The likely luggage is 2x D-SLR plus assorted lenses, one Compact and a Go Pro. Might drop it to one D-SLR (and a paaaartridge in a pear tree!)
For general use (and especially as a drying aid after washing the car) I use the Meguiars Last Touch detailer, which I buy in bulk (1 US gallon or 3.78 ltr) containers.
I don't think its quite as good as the Gold Class version mentioned by the OP, but following a tip off from another forum I bought some today from Euro Car Parts - its normally £28.90 delivered for 3.78 litres but if you use code bigdeal31 you get 31% off, so £19.94 inc delivery.

Bear in mind you dilute it down 1:1 to use it, so it will give you 7,650 ml - or in other words 16 * the normal 473 ml size bottles of detailing spray which works out at less that £1.25 each!!
