I have been using my new toy (DAS6) and Megs SwirlX to take out the swirls - its taking most of them out but still the odd swirl under light. Would ultimate compound be too much to use all over the car?? I realise it has much more cut in it than swirlx but from what Ive read UC is still quite mild compared to other Megs cutting polishes. I havnt tried the UC yet as Im breaking for the apprentice! thanks guys

Wouldnt like to say tbh. Swirl x and ultimate compund were designed for a by hand approach. Swirl x isnt aimed at being a filler based product but does sink and gives a filled effect from its oils so the level of correction your getting wont always be what it looks like.

so you are saying swirlx has no cut and fills instead of cuts and I should use UC then? I got the impression there was cut in swirlx.

I dont know if Scottbt would agree but, I would always go for a product that is specifically designed to work with a machine, it will always give better work time and in general will give you much better results. There are a lot of people both on this site and The Detailing World site who would give you advice as to what products to use as well as the techniques to get the best from the product.

Good to hear you got the results you were after. Yes I would always go with more dedicated products for the job but in this case, if its worked to the effect your after then great. In answer to the last question, both have a form of cut, UC more so but swirl x sinks and fills.
