Don't think anyone can top the efficiency of the Stuttgart factory..

Was a very good show.. lots of information about the Z construction that I didnt know....
Funny though, they kept showing clips of how good the Z handles/performs but every time they used the //M which is NOT built at the US factory!!![]()
As I understand it, the //M is built originally in the US factory then shipped back to Munich to be made (properly!!) into an //M!
Would have love the show to follow 1 of the //M cars too as I've always wondered what gets shipped to Munich?? The body in white? A full chassis and interrior without the running gear?? or a complete 3.0si??

I'm sure that I saw an M rolling off the production line. Watch it again closely, it is a shot where the car comes off the line with the bonnet up and you can see the S54 motor.
Also in the paint booth, that colour looked very 'interlagos' to me.
I think you may be getting confused with the Alpina; IIRC for each Roadster S made, BMW shipped a 3.0i to the Alpina factory then Alpina took over.
I know they mentioned the X5 but the Z3 was made at that plant too, on top of one of the machines or someone's desk there was a little red model of a '3.

I really need HD.. They have a deal on at the mo for anyone interested, free box, £60 installation and an extra £10 per month.. Not sure whether its worth it or not ??

Odd though as they keep flicking from prefacelift to facelift. I'm sure they have edittd some stuff in since I first saw it a couple of years back ??
All the PS shots are original German footage and the factory of the facelift
One thing that still amazes me is to see 6' diameter ostrich feather roller dusters cleaning the paint. Better than anything man can make?
That was hilarious!cj10jeeper said:texasjohn said:Z4//MMY said:Watched this last night....

Yes - the car dropping of the aerial conveyor is a fully complete Z4M. No way does that go to Germany to be rebuilt - it was complete and finished for delivery
