Just took delivery of a audiovox mediabridge I want to install it in my 58 plate zed at the weekend, a question to anyone who has fitted one, I do not have a cd multicharger fitted so does the 12 ft interface harness simply fit into the back of my business head unit or am I missing something ?

You will have the wiring for a CD changer though so you can plug into that if that is what the instructions say to do.

thanks for the help, i have been worrying myself doing searchs seeing people saying you have to remove the centre console, :-o now i'm happy again,

Yeah you go in through the boot and the connectors should be hidden somewhere in the hole. I just then mounted it using strong Velcro. Mine is the silverline duo version but basically same instructions except a an extra wire to root for the microphone.

getting mixed messages here, i assume these leads in the boot connect into the back of the radio, cant i just unplug them as i dont have a mulitchanger and plug in the mediabridge to the same connections?

If you look at the picture above you can see the 12ft of cable wrapped up. Just connect one end to your dice and the other to the cd changer cables which are std on UK cars.

I done mine differently ,still connected it in the boot but I routed the wire in under the transmission tunnel and in behind the ashtray .the box is hidden there and I routed the microphone through the dash to near the speedo .no wires on show and easy to get too behind ashtray .if u leave the box in the boot the microphone wire won't be long enough

thats what i am going to do, and then all the ipod and aux leads i will have in the glove box. just worried as all the utube tuts ive seen show you the back of the seats as having covers over speakers, mine doesnt have these, mine has storage holds, just hope they remove in the same way, i will see tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone's advise, did it today, well pleased with this gadget, the hardest part of the whole job was fitting the boot carpet back, who invented those bloody fastenings. :)

Cubby hole just pulls out and I removed one screw in the bottom left of cubby hole frame to feed the wire underneath really is a piece of pi%% to fit one hour max ,and you will be pleased with the results bring the head unit out of the dark ages

Can i be nosey please and ask how much the audiovox mediabridge is? Im very interested in these previously bought a Dyce (Sp)? ipod connector and found it was very quiet with a whining noise in the background and ive been looking for an iPod/aux set up for a while.

AudioVox Mediabridge is the same as the Dice Mediabridge as AudioVox took over Dice

Some ppl were reporting quality issues in the past (I haven't found any with mine) but there have been recent firmware updates available on their site to resolve known issues.

if you do a serch on ebay nd on google you can get them from the states for arround £130, £190 from uk sellers.

i paid £179 from a UK supplier on Ebay ,and mine works perfect i did update the firmware before i fitted it .

I glued the back of the fasteners to the back of the carpet, makes it much easier to put back together
