Mediabridge advice

I'm thinking it's time to stop steering with my knees while I fiddle about with CDs. So I'm contemplating fitting a DICE/Audiovox Mediabridge, so that I can play music from MP3 files on a USB stick.

Before I take the plunge, I'd appreciate advice from anyone who already has one. The vehicle is a Z4 2.5i manufactured 23/06/2006, with MFSW. The spec says it has "S662A Radio BMW Business CD" and "S692A Preparation, BMW 6-CD changer I-bus".

1. Can I expect to see text from the ID3 tags on the head unit display? Currently, when I play MP3 CDs in the single drive all I see is something like "TR03-01", where "03" is the number of a top-level folder, and "01" is the track number within the folder. This information is pretty much useless. I don't know whether the ID3 display is a function of the HU or the playing device. The HU shows radio station id, so clearly it has the capability to display text.

2. If ID3 text is shown, does the Mediabridge display album titles, or just tracks? With several thousand tracks on a drive, I can imagine it's quite difficult to navigate around them. I mostly play classical music, so I don't generally use random play.

3. Does the Mediabridge support playlists? If so, I can see that it would make sense to create a named playlist for each album - I could easily write a script to automate this.

4. Can selection be controlled from the MFSW buttons?

5. I've seen reports that the phone/bluetooth function is unreliable or awkward to use. Can anyone comment?

Thanks for any help you can give.
