Me and my 2009 30i

Hi all,

I’m sure no one has really noticed but I haven’t posted for about a year, primarily due to serious illness, said illness now means it’s probably best that I let my beloved 30i go to a new home.

I really don’t have the inclination or energy to do the full advert write up at this stage, or to deal with time wasters and tyre kickers but…

A couple of questions at this point, naturally I’ve not been following the market but what should I ask for it? Basic info, it’s a metallic black 2009 E89 30i with just 66,000 miles (ivory leather sport seats), I am the second owner, it was the classic “one lady owner” when I bought it 4 years ago. It had full BMW service history up until 2 years ago when I switched to a highly rated local Indy. I have put non run flats on it, changed the roof sensors, fairly recently changed the front discs and pads etc etc. it also passed its MOT in Oct 23 without a single advisory it was recently serviced by said Indy with oil and filter change and fresh brake fluid.

Second question, is anyone looking for a nice 30i if so give me a shout. I am in the Braintree, Essex area.

Here is my post with pictures from when I bought it, obviously it hasn’t changed much as it’s only done 3,000-4,000 miles in that time https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=123693

Very sorry to hear about the end of your relationship with this beautiful car..I guess it’s a point in time many of us will face…very best wishes…..

The car looks great….GLWTS

Boris' sleek roadster, wind-whispered curves,
Roaring through the gears, a symphony of nerve.
Now, illness forces a parting embrace,
Memories linger, tyre marks on life's race.
Farewell, E89, a rebel's silent adieu,
In the rearview, echoes of adventures true.

Wow we have a poet and I didn't know it!

Sorry to hear of your health issues Kevan, I hope things are better now. And good luck finding a new owner for your Z4.

Really sorry to read this Boris. I wish you well and hopefully a buyer that will look after the car as well as you have.

Kevan
I’ve only just seen this post and I am so sorry to hear your news at such a difficult time for you .

Thanks to everyone for the kind and encouraging replies, especially Marcoose for his lovely poetic words.

Unfortunately I have been told I’m not getting better from this one… it’s the big “C” and it seems it’s now become terminal so it’s a matter of making the most of the time I have left. Hence looking to sell on the Z4 while I am still (reasonably) healthy.

So sorry to hear that. Big C sucks donkey balls.

May you find great adventures with the time and energy you have left. And whilst you still own it, put the top down and enjoy fresh air in your face.

Damn ! [ref]Big Bad Boris[/ref],

Being quoted "Terminal" must be a right s***ter :(
Having the rotten "C" leaves you numb enough. I struggle to concentrate as it is with treatment, let alone having that thought also.

My thoughts are with you.

Hope you have a bucket list and can work your way throught it.

So sorry to hear this! What an awful reason to have to part with a car. I hope you can enjoy every moment you have with and without the car.

So a quick update, those who follow the forum regularly will have seen my lovely 30i has moved on to a new life in Wales… meanwhile I decided to give EDP chemo a go, what’s to lose right?

I finished my second cycle last week, 5 days residential at the Royal Free in Hampstead, so far not feeling too bad.

I have also became buddies with N4lly as we both continue our journeys. So much so that we now even share the same haircuts…

Fear not Zedders…whatever they tell me the fight will continue 🤓👊
