McGuinness & Flintoff hosting new Top Gear

Really? Flintoff's game is magic when he's firing on all cylinders but there's something of the arrogant dic8 about him that grates with me. And Paddy's stilted "let the boys see the toys" game show style doesn't bode well as potential petrol head presenter. I hope I'm wrong but just when we need a decent car show this doesn't sound like the answer to me

F*ck me - and there was I thinking, whoever the BBC chose, it couldn't be worse than Chris Evans...

Wow, that’s pretty random. Freddy and Paddy’s road to nowhere...

I’d be interested to know how the YouTube gang got on this time round. Mat Watson is good. Alex Kersten too. They could have taken a punt on someone like Queen B to at least even up the gender balance a bit.

It doesn't seem if Top Gear can do anything right. No matter what way they turn they face constant criticism. People are determined to write it off at every chance.

It is a strange pairing on the face of it, but I will give it a go.

Can't stand McGuinness - hugely overrated. Hopefully some other talent will pop up elsewhere - I keep meaning to see what's about on YouTube about cars; maybe now is the time :)

I tend to agree. Even Chris Evans wasn't *that* bad, he has his own style but you could tell his hear t was in it.

Pair of tossers.... imo
Won't be watching
Yet more dumbing down,
What's happened to motoring journalists presenting these shows or isn't it fashionable to have someone who knows the industry .
It's all Cobblers!

We’re English old boy...that’s what we do...!!

Seems to me the British biased corp has tried and failed miserably to keep up the comedy aspect that Clarkson etc, had, which to be fair would be all but impossible, so to my mind they’d be better off going back to the bygone age of actually reporting on real world car tests by people who have an ounce of what they’re talking about as Stupot says. This pairing of a mouthy cricketer and a d list celeb is pure desperation imho and doomed from the off.

Just imo obviously......having said that all others are wrong......

Quite like both of them but as Topgear presenters not for me

This. I can't help but wonder how much actual "car knowledge" is there between the two. It's in your blood, not just something you can read lines for. Who'd have thought TG would go all Lancashire.

H.

Each of them good at what they Do/Did but in the Top Gear Presenter role???? - I doubt it will work for me.
Never mind, I know where the off button is and I will give it a chance before I press it!

As Harvard said " It's in your blood, not just something you can read lines for" and that about sums it up!

Or Peter Kay following his Car Share stuff! :headbang:

When I read McGuiness I was thinking it may be OK, but I was thinking of John McGuiness - I'd watch that!
