Nah will not ba CAT B/C it will never go via insurance ... as its not insured
Mine is insured (1st party only of course) for Tourist days via MORIS.

As I've done a few, and not crashed, it's now down to about £150 for the weekend.

Did you mean 3rd party ? I'm asking a genuine question and not being a smartarse just in case it comes across that way , does it cover any track damage , track time down or recovery ?
I've looked into a couple of policies and haven't found anything that's actually worthwhile taking out , if it does cover third party without any comebacks that's well worth looking into , your normal insurance is legally bound to cover third party anywhere in Europe but worded so they can recover any costs from the policy holder , ie , run a biker over and they have to compensate him and recover the payout from the policy holder .
£150 is a bargain as a just in case measure

Pretty sure he means first party - that is all MORIS offer by the day - it is like track day cover: own car only, accident damage only with a reasonably large excess.

As you correctly say you already have third party cover for TF through your insurer, and there is no way (that I am aware of) to get third party cover by the day. The problem is whether you can rely on that cover or whether your insurer will look to recover those costs from you. I used to have third party cover for TF, but my insurer withdrew it a couple of years ago, and I haven't done TF since.

They have it pretty well sewn up , can't blame them really , mid week TF days only for me these days , and then only the evening 2 hour sessions .
First time I went there wasn't even an overflow car park over the road and parking wasn't an issue in the entrance car park , it was only about £8 a lap as well :D those were the days , blame Jeremy clarkson , that's what I do

That's correct.

I buy 'track day' cover to protect my car, but any costs for barrier damage would come out of my own pocket.

3rd party cover is the PITA, as I know I'm 'legally' covered, but also know that if cause £10m of 3rd party damages then my insurer would pay out (as they have to), but would seek to recover the costs from me via the courts.

Ah well , looks like it's back to plan a and pay the money and take the chance :driving: on a 5k car I'll suffer the damage myself , different for you boys with more expensive cars .
Can you imagine the letter coming in the post saying " you owe us £10m , please enclose your cheque in the pre paid envelope " though :o

Agree midweek sessions are far safer and far more enjoyable

First few years I went the start finish was a rope at T13 and parking for a handful of vehicles. No parking issues nor queues!
