Maybe your car is worth more than you think......maybe.

Doesn't hurt to dream. What would a car like that bring in the UK? (That's around 18,500 pounds)

One day, these will be in that price range and some.
Look at classic cars that offer the same credentials, just depends how you look after it and if you want to hang on to it

Mines a year younger (auto as well) and its a £4000 car all day.
Maybe I'm doing somersetting wrong but thats a dreadful website - I can only get thumbnail sized pictures to look at.
Maybe thats what Z4's go for in Australia.

That’s crazy. I’ve not considered an ecu upgrade is that a popular option? My 3.0 si is quick enough for me but more ponies if cheap sounds great

That 70bhp ECU Upgrade in the advert is complete and utter cobblers!

I guess the thing to think about is 'how will improving the electronic brain result in more horsepower?'

In REALLY crude terms, all the ECU does is set fuelling and spark advance within preset safe parameters, and monitor/adjust air and spark advance based on measuring the incoming air into the engine, and the lambda value of the exhaust gases. so 'upgrading' the ecu achieves what? More efficient monitoring of these parameters? How does this increase the power of the engine? Quite simply it doesn't!

The simple answer to your question is that for a few hundred quid you can get someone to 'remap' your car. This may (if they know what they're doing - and that's an extremely big if) result in a few extra horsepower - but you will genuinely struggle to feel any difference. N/A engine tuning is particularly expensive to obtain meaningful horsepower gains from without spending lots of money, and ultimately compromising how the car drives (for example - fitting lairy cams for lots of peak horsepower, resulting in lumpy idle and rubbish low-end torque).

Personally I'd not bother at all with remapping the car -just enjoy it as is :)

Size of the picture might have something to do with what you are using to view.....size is ok here. As for price, they are more expensive here, I paid A$19,000 (10,000 pounds) for mine a year ago with very similar mileage, manual gearbox and no bs modifications to the ECU. That was top money then (it's like new condition...hadn't even been out in the rain judging by how clean it is underneath but then rain isn't an issue here, unless it's not enough :P ) but you never know....he might find a sucker.

If you think that’s ridiculous, how about the $100,000 (£55,000) S2000!

Lol, i guess youll probably leave your M in Sydney when you leave. Prices about tripple from back in the UK. :D

I’m not planning to leave anytime soon, but I agree, I could probably get over 40k GBP for it here.
