Maybe i need to put back my winter tires

Haven't taken my summers off from last year yet, and don't intend to.

If it's bad then I stay at home. If it looks okay and it changes, then I put on my snow socks for long enough to get somewhere 'safe', and then continue when it's clear.
 
Put winters on Deb's 1'er for the past 2 years and not any snow. Said that next year I'm gonna wait till it snows before I put them on!

(I know they aren't just for snow, before anyone flames me!).
 
I don't use winter tyres. If the weather's bad I use the wife's TT and leave the zed in the garage.

I run a A3 Quattro & agree getting up most hills in snow is not problem on summer tyres, including the roads in the French Alps when I've been skiing.

However, trying to stop on solid ice or snow gives you as much control as everyone else on summers, especially as they've lightened the flywheels for economy so you don't get the proper engine braking as you otherwise do in a Shogun or Landie.

You might think it an expensive luxury though even in Kent, they were worth every penny after last winters cold snap.
