Maybe buying this weekend...!

I went and saw a 2008 Z4 last weekend and I have to say I was very impressed - it was the first one I had seen in person. Like I said, it's a 2008 with the factory warranty until June, 29,000 miles and he's asking $22,800 (That's £14,403) but it's as basic as you can get except it's got a power top. It's even got manual seats which I didn't even know were an option. I took it for a drive and it runs great. It could use a tire balancing it feels like and it will need new tires soon, too. Other than that it's in perfect shape, no dings or anything.

The only thing that has me kind of concerned is that it's got the ticking at cold start up. I'd have a few months to get that fixed under warranty but I wonder if I start the process before the warranty ends but it comes back in say, 9 months, would BMW still fix it since I had reported it while the warranty was still active.

So what do you all think? $22,800 for a black 2008 3.0i, manual leatherette seats, power top, everything else base, 3 months of factory warranty left.

EDIT: I forgot to add the carfax checks out with no accidents, damage, etc. It's a lease turn in. Oddly enough there are 3 or 4 trips to BMW for "tire repair"... Unless the guy who owned it was a job site foreman whose employees were pretty sloppy with the nails, I'm not sure how you could need that many tires repaired in just 3 years...

14,676 Tire(s) replaced
16,172 One tire mounted and balanced
20,270 Tire Repaired, Tire(s) replaced

Congrats. Many of the optional extras are easy retro fits. Sounds like an ok deal for a 2008, but no doubt prices vary across the pond compared with here in the UK.

Glad to hear you're nearly there. Make sure to post some pictures if/when you buy

I may be wrong but am I right in thinking that in The USA a manual is always Cheaper...
That said I think your getting it at a decent price in comparison to what we would be looking / expected to pay this side of the Pond,
You have already noticed a couple of "niggles" with the car, Get the dealer to sort them before you pick it up, as for the seats, you can retro fit the electrics in or buy electric seats, its a pretty easy process,

Welcome to the forum, you can learn so much about your car on here, but beware, you wll be pestered to get pics up when you get one.

EDIT, link removed coz I just noticed they were all M's

cant say i'm familiar with what the price should be with your setup, i've been busy making myself a specialist in the spec i'm getting, as i go in to haggle tomorrow :D so i share you excitement. and on that note welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the advice! I don't mind not having the extras. Like the seats... I'll set them once and they will never move again. Manuals are cheaper but they are harder to find (lazy Americans I guess lol) so they actually cost more. The dealer won't haggle at all and he's not really a dealer but more like a middleman. He's got a garage of sports cars and buys at auction to resell. So I'll have to take it to the dealer myself. I tried to haggle but he honestly couldn't care less if I bought it.

The Blue Book value for this car is $28,500 so I suppose it is a good deal. They just aren't selling over here. Even ebay has only sold one in the USA in the last 30 days!
