Hi all, took this for a spin at the weekend and liked it, have made an offer on it and due to hear back later on, even if its refused ill keep an eye out for another,

anyway just wondering if on the off chance its accepted, what should i be making sure of before i buy? the garage i viewed it in is a local ex bmw franchised dealer.

Ive sold an e46 m3 and have always loved the z4 coops, so want to try one out before i need back seats

here she is, and yes cars are that expensive in ireland, list on something like this would have been 70k euro!

Shame its so expensive as its in Ireland. I saw a nice Z4M roadster go for £19.1k the other week, 17k on the clock, 2007 car at auction over here.

Personally I don't like the colour at all. As for things to check, I guess HPI and then just the usual checks for noises and such, maybe have a independant dealer/mechanic check it over? Depends what you have locally I guess. Is it not still under warranty?

Looks nice but i it was me if would take it to a BMW main dealer and pay for a full inspection cos trust me its not cheap when they go wrong.

Had mine checked over by a friend who is a tech for BMW and i was buying from BMW just a different dealership to where he works better safe than sorry.

Nice looking car. I'd not buy one without Sat Nav though. Even if you don't want it it does depress resale values.

Assuming this is still fully warrantied then not much to worry about. As said run a HPi or equiv. check on it. See the service book, previous owners numbers, etc.

Check everything works fully from aircon to seats and the usual gap lines are perfect, no kerbed rims, etc. Should be as new at that age and mileage

Drivers seat bolster for any wear as they are prone and it's a light colour

Check rear tyre depth. They'll be £250 each to replace

Is this the same cyrusir that I sold a set of CSL's too, for his mint M3?

If so welcome mate.

Why not a Z4M

yep thats me David :)

the m is another 12k give or take, so ill have to go without :D the 3.0si has plenty of poke anyway.

lads do oem csl rims fit the non m z4 coupe no?

As the owner of a Z4 3.0 (strictly it is my wife's) and an E46 M3, I would be pretty disappointed with the performance from the Z4 if that was all I/we had. The Z4 we have is tolerable (and my wife will not be persuaded to upgrade to a ZM) since it has a roof that opens. A 3.0 coupe would be like drawing 2 short straws.

stfu.

Thats a stylish combination! It does seem expensive but you know that market better than I. Sure looks like a car that would make you happy! Good luck and I'm sure you'll find one that suits you!

I got a large cash discount (circa 15%) :)

if i were to buy the car in the UK, im guessing id get a nice one for circa £18-19k (from a dealer with a warranty) which today would be about €21,000.

Unfortunately to drive a uk car in ireland i have to pay a tax to register the car over here (if not it is impounded) the tax is a percentage of the open market value that the irish government on the car.

This tax on a 07 Z4 3.0si is €17k  which would mean a uk car would cost me €38k in total(plus travel, etc to the UK) v the €30k i have spent

Also the road tax on a 3.0 z4 here is over €1300 per annum,

think of that next time you UK folk moan about tax and the cost of cars :D

Looks lovely; I don't know the price of cars over there, so that's your call - but the spec looks spot on - without wishing to offend anyone, the sat-nav is terrible in that gen of BMWs, it's just not worth the money, I prefer the cleaner dash.

If I was after a coupe, that colour and spec would be pretty much perfect.

thanks all for your input, picking it up this morning (hence im awake so early :driving: ) cant wait

ill be contributing to the forum id imagine :)
