Cheers Steve

Downloaded Google Earth, imported the file... clicked play - globe spun and off I went to the Grand Canyon :x A few tries later, some swearing and I thought I'd leave it until later. I need to do some work now :(

the route is marked, but the globe wont take you straight to it yo need to do that yourself.

I will try and clear up the bit round the pub if I can find what part of the file it is, you will see what I mean when you zoom in.

I'm having a nightmare trying to get this video online. I've edited it using Quicktime Pro, but Youtube (edit lists?) and the package that came with the camera (no internet connection?!) won't let me upload it. I've uploaded it to Vimeo and the dubbing is out  I've re-encoded it as Youtube suggests and it now says it will take 11hrs to upload!! Any ideas? Head well and truly done in after 2 days trying...

I'd be happy to host this on one of my servers with an ultra-fast pipe. Obviously this means it needs to be fully downloaded to watch rather than streamed but anyway, putting it out there as an option!

Crumbs, Mark, that sounds like a real pain! Really appreciate the effort. If you've ever wanted one this could be a good excuse to buy a MacBook

Think you could be right. My advice is don't buy a video camera that deals with MOV files if you have a PC, they are a pain in the arse!

Finally cracked it!! I had to re-encode the entire movie, as youtube didn't like it's variable frame rates. The quality won't be quite as good but it's ok. Here's the link...

25 people can access it, not sure how I give access though, thought I just needed to post the link and it was first come first served

Reserve slots for people at the meet please!

This train journey is a little dull, so I'll see if I can find some instructions, will PM you my details when I found out what you need :)

Thanks

EDIT: You invite people by YouTube username it seems, if you click edit there is a list below the box down on the left hand side of the page. This has been a huge build up, I'm going to buy some popcorn!

Success! Thanks for sorting that... and that engine sounds truly fantastic - can even forgive the fact it's in a coupe

Put up a private version too, although not that different from the public one.

flimper you've been sent an invite already, anyone else let me know

Yes please, and dealer has ordered parts for my car, not sure what yet, just had a text from them earlier today whilst driving down to sunny Devon again on an emergency trip.

That's a pain having to head back down there again, I hope you're at least getting to enjoy a scenic route! That run up on Sunday was great :driving:
(although appreciate you're not in the Zed)

With a bit of luck the dealer will get the parts and fix the car in time for the weekend. Hopefully just a sensor.

Can you PM me your YouTube user name and I'll get you added.

Under warranty? :(

Hope it's covered, should be and not sure the dealer knows I have extended the warranty, had better find the documentation before I pick it up. Was going to hunt it out tonight but bit hard being 230 miles away.

Nice drive down the coast road, managed to nick one the the companies 320d's which was nice as it's usually a Mondeo.

I did wonder if it was down to fuel, been using Shell V-Power for a long time then switched to Tesco Super Unleaded (or whatever it's called) then being sort of stuck put ESSO 97 super in it and 15 miles later the light come on, coincedence?
