mats - how do you secure them?

I know there have been a few threads on what mats to get. I have carpet-type, presumably OEM, which are fine except that the drivers mat gradually slides up under the pedals. Any thoughts on the best way to secure it? Will velcro gradually wreck the carpet?

Just to be clear on this the velcro on OEM is heat welded to the base carpet and back of the mat. Once aligned they hold it in the correct spot.

If you don't have it on both, then at least one of the items you have is aftermarket or the velcro has been somehow torn off and you shoudl see the shape left.

x5 - perhaps you should check either the fixed carpet or the mat to ensure one or other hasn't come adrift and are now velcroed together.

Weird. My mats do have velcro on the back, but can't see any on the carpets. Any with an M able to comment on their own mat-velcro interface situation?

I have the same problem with my rubber ones falling back off the rug onto my birds feet when she's in the passenger seat. Velcro sounds like a good solution.

(no puns here by the way)
