Mats coming up

The floor mat on the drivers side is moving about a bit and looking closer it is the Velcro coming loose.

Can anyone suggest what kind of glue would be best to stick it back down permanently.

It's both the Velcro on the mat and on the footwell carpet that is lifted so need to stick it down in both places

if you look on ebay you can get a universal fixing that fits mats. you have to cut a small hold in the rear section of the mat and screw a retainer into the carpet underneath, but only a few quid and work well .

this sort of thing

I actually had those in my previous zed as I added aftermarket mats and they worked really well until one of them snapped. Its just because the OEM velcro is still there just coming loose I'd like to do my best to re use it.

I'll try the contact cement and if it doesn't hold then will go for the screw in fixings

Put proper clips in the floor carpet. two holes in mat with new clips to match. Best solution i tried the velcro one too

I found that only lasted a year before on of the clips broke, (screw bit snapped off in the carpet) whereas the velcro is the oem way and has lasted 10 years.... Still will revert to clips if the contact cement doesnt hold the velcro back down

I tried every glue and even pop riveted the Velcro to the floor but they all faiedl in weeks or at best months.

Pair of clips off eBay the have a spike that wedges into the base mat and a couple of holes in the mat and they have been perfect for the last year+

The clips lasted me just shy of a year... Maybe time to get the needle and thread out and sew the Velcro to the carpet
