Matching Up Colour of Sidelights/fogs for Xenon...

OK,

I bought these 501 / W5W LED sidelights:

Seller was fantastic - very helpful and next day delivery. They are bright - approx the same as existing bulbs and don't cause any error messages on the dash. HOWEVER they were slightly too wide. I lightly filed them down to make them fit through the aperture in the housing. Some pics:

Both LED Sidelights:

P.S. changing the sidelights is a right PITA. After you have opened the access panel and swing door to get into the bulb compartment there is hardly any room to fit your hand through. If you have Xenons, insert your hand palm facing forward and slide it under the HID ballast. Make sure the car has the handbrake on and is in gear - at one point I got my hand stuck for 10 minutes and it wouldn't have been fun if the car had rolled.

Hi, excuse my ignorance but, do you have standard lights all round? or standard sidelights and xenons?

I like the idea of getting these brighter sidelights but unsure if I can, I have standard lights all round.
How hard/easy will it be for me to convert to LED?

THANK YOU

I have Xenon headlights. If you have standard halogen bulbs the procedure should be the same.

I recommend these bulbs now:

Same seller, just slightly smaller and therefore fit in without the need to file them down slightly. There are less LEDs though so won't be quite as bright.

Aren't these frugly LED's clearly visible from the outside of the car? I recall when I fitted them LED's I had to use specific ones as they protruded into the housing.

(Later replaced with AE's so not an issue for me any longer)

Thanks for that daveg,
Il prob go down the brighter bigger route and just file the extra away. ! cheers

I think it's worth it, just a couple of minutes work. Just go slow and not too forceful as to not stress the board. One of mine was actually alright so you might be lucky

Yes - they protrude slightly but this is necessary otherwise most of the light would be wasted? They are white and so small I don't mind them. Will get a daytime picture up if people want one?

That was my concern that in effect a couple of circuit boards are protruding into the visible part of the headlight.

My preference when I had them was this sort of LED light:

Super bright, not obvious and forward directional. You can go smaller and have a clear plastic lens prtruding that looks like a bulb. I later recycled thm into door puddle lights :)
