Matching private plates...

Sorry for touching such a raw nerve tomscott - I can appreciate your irritation though :D ...teamemmenracing, you're not allowed to leave us hanging...

The voting thus far is :

S888 ADC - 5 (6 if you count Adamski, currently leading contender in my head but not quite right enough. I don't think. Maybe)
S80 CTC - 3 (4 if you include Mrs Bing, who very much likes this idea, and I would get very many brownie points - but is it worth it ? And would it annoy me not having my own initials on the car ?)
(prefix)88 ADC - 1 (would be my favourite (X88 ADC) but £500 in times of austerity is quite a lot)
Buy both S888 ADC & S888 CTC, sell S88 CTC - 1 (great idea, however Mrs Bing is now attached to her plate... not physically, obviously)
Wait for one to come up that's right - 1 (probably the best idea if I can be patient enough)

I am not sure I am any closer to a decision, but thanks for all the opinions - some great alternate ideas I had not even considered ! :thumbsup:

Yeah, I know. Pi$$es me right off - actually £42.5k for A11 ANS ... or (wait for it) £125k for ALL 4N. Fortunately, the number 4 is a VERY bad number to have on a plate if you are Chinese, or if you are married to someone Chinese. Apparently. Which also means I can't have ALZ 4 (Irish plate), though that's car specific so is a no-no.

And before you go - 'but you drive a Z4 and it's on the back', apparently that doesn't count :?

Completely stupid this plate thing, but now I have it in my head I think I need one. More stupidity than money, me :roll:
 
Maybe matching your plates with your dad / extended family is a whole new level :lol: joking.... anyway, me and my wife ended up with matching plates buy chance and now I think it looks great when you see both cars together so defo go for it if you can find the right plate :thumbsup: little smile when I see them :P

Bit of a sorry tale, my original plate was V6 PVE but due to a DVLA co*k up when I sold an old car , the buyer decided to refuse to give my number plate back even after he had sign a contract not to keep it and bascily said if I gave him £600 quid I could have it back .... this went on for 7 months.. thats the short version... in the end a legal battle was not worth it! , wife already had hers P4 GVE so I got my replacment P4 PVE and it was only £255 all in happy days

I do agree with less is more on plates budget depending of course ... £46k :o :lol:
 
i just remembered, i need to put my lads plate on retention, er anybody know the procedure - i can look on dvla site

At least. Sticking it on a beat up 4x4, the owner must be either totally minted or it's been handed down and they are driving around with their retirement / mortgage fund on their car. Which is cool - I could look out the window at my P&J and my future house somewhere hot (and where Andy could have his matching number plates) all at the same time :thumbsup:
