Marussia accident

Struggle to see what this has to do with her being a woman though... argue all day long about whether women are as good as men on the track, but she probably drives a hell of a lot better than any of us on here and we wouldn't drive into a truck... let's see what the enquiry turns up before making out like she got confused and pressed the wrong pedal.

+1 too damn right. Seems like the car had a serious problem.

Terribly unlucky too... if she'd crashed into anything else, or if the truck had the tail lift up then the damage would've been minimal... was only 30mph. My first reaction was whether the saw the lift at all (intending to drive past the rear of the truck) considering the tail lift is very narrow and at eye level, but the angle of impact seems that theory is wrong... one report I saw said the wheels appeared to lock.

Either way she's not going to be driving again... terrible shame :(

Very sad.

This guy speaks a lot of sense, not least:

It is still a little early to say what happened at Duxford, but clearly the accident involved either a technical glitch or inexperience. One can, of course, ask whether it was wise to have a truck with the tail-lift down in proximity to an F1 car being tested.

Andy is right....Marussia has to carry a lot of responsibility for this accident. If the news is to be believed the only other time she had tested an F1 car was a 2009 Renault last year, so what the hell were they thinking using the poor woman as a test driver? And +1 on the tail-lift.

And she is an extremely attractive lady too; massive shame about such terrible injury at what should have been a safe stage of proceedings.
