I like the “dated” interiors, they look classy to my (dated) eyes
Rob

The 996 interior was a modern move that backfired , it was a total change from previous models & Porsche clearly accepted it was somewhat of a "disaster" which they rectified with the 997 reverting back to 993/964 layout with the dashboard in one as opposed to binnacle style.
Obvious things you would notice going from any Z4 is the visibility all around from drivers seat , the abrupt angle of windscreen & the girth of the steering wheel (by comparison to a BMW Msport one)

I'm certainly no spec expert, but interesting that Marlon's car has a different steering wheel (round rather than triangular boss) and is that a chrono option on the dash?

Mine has the sports pack, which yes - includes the crono option. My seats are different to mr wilks, hadn't noticed the steering wheel though, maybe thats part of the sports package - Andy will know the exact differences I'm sure

The triangular one is the standard wheel though not all have full controls on them .
The round wheel on Colin's is indeed classed as a sport one which i believe is marginally smaller in diameter but could be wrong there .

Both cars look like loads of money, your not leaving that parked on the road are you Marlon.Good move for both of you. Is The Insurance much more than the z4?

They both do look like cracking cars.

The two different steering wheels and seats were also used in the 987 Boxster and Caymans and are a bit like SE/M Sport seats/wheels for the E85/6. For me its got be the Sports ones, having had the ordinary ones in my first Boxster then the Sports stuff in my second, there's no doubt they're a major improvement.
The Porsche quick shift upgrade makes a fair old difference too. Either of you got that fitted?
The Porsche Sports Exhaust (PSE) is certainly the best of all the options on these cars, the sound those make, especially if you do the bypass to the vacuum valves (to stop it going into normal mode at certain speeds/revs to meet noise regs in certain markets) is bloody fantastic! :D
