Can anyone help!
Just finish cleaning the Z when I notest these marks, on a closer look I can see they are finger marks (not mine) tried to clean them off with petrol and then glass cleaner but with no luck. :(
Has anyone got any ideal how they would come to be there and how I may remove them?

Have you got a porter cable? If that was my car, I would use Menzerna FPII first with white pad, and if that did not work Menzerna intensive polish with white, and finally with orange pad to shift it.

If you don't have that - try any of the waxes you have.

But wouldn’t putting wax on top just seal in the marks :?

Sorry pvr! But not a clue what a porter cable, FP11 or white pad is

pleeeease don't touch the car with T cut. That belongs back in the dark ages of flat paint, not clearcoats.

The only time I've seen something like this was when my wife decided to put back to black on the trim of her car and the overspray and finger prints burnt in over the coarse of a week or so. Amazing how destructive it was.

Porter cable and some swirl remover is the way I'd go, but frankly it's one of thoise things that I'd really want to see in person to know how the paint is affected - is it on the surface, burnt in, how deep is the damage, etc.

2dogs - dive into any independant paint shop and ask their opinion. Even if they don't get the work to do it they'll tell you if it's a polish out or more serious

Think you could be on the something there 10jeeper with the back to black this could of happen when the dealer was getting the car ready.
So how did you remove the mark on your wife car?

Porter cable polisher with Meguiars swirl mark remover to cut through it, then rebuilt my layers of polishes, seal and wax. Then took the bloody spray can off her....

Good news  Looks like pvr and cj10jeeper were right :)
took my Z to my paint man a bit of G3 and goodbye finger prints. Woohoo :driving: Cheers all...

I've been using T-Cut on clear coat for years! T-Cut has moved on you know!! They do one especially for metallics.

OK - but it's a fairly coarse abrasive and in the wrong hands it will rip into the surface of paint in moments causing damage. That's my concern.
