Will Lewis retire ? Will Mercedes Spit the dummy and leave F1 taking all their engines with them ? If Lewis doesn't retire , will he get a 10 place grid penalty for not attending the FIA Gala evening?

Will John89 win another beer? Stay tuned........... :P

This is going to get interesting - what do Merc's contract with the other teams say?

Will LH go - I don't think so but if he gets punished for missing Paris then he may think about it as it was clearly not the best decision in the world.

No, No, No.

Yes :icb:  :beerdive:

Its all hot air, there is no way Hammy retires, he needs that 8th in order to top the record books, his ego wont let him walk away

I might be wrong, and the FIA don't have a wonderful track record for following the rules, but I don't think they can impose a sporting penalty for a non-sporting event so, if he's 'punished', it's likely to be a fine.

Of course Hammy will go on.
He's under contract and he has a big chance of winning next year.
Cars and engines will be pretty different, and Mercedes is always very good in putting down a new car.
So my bet is that Merc. will have the better car again next year.
Biggest question is: how fast will Russel be in that car

Have any team 'revealed' their cars for next season yet? Presume not.
They are gonna look really funny with road size wheels and tyres.

And he will be able to pay any fine from loose change he has lying around

The teams haven't but they'll look roughly like this

I think the 18" wheels look good - this was LH on a test run with them

I have no opinion on Hamilton one way or the other, he's just a good driver, but now they are talking about penalizing him for not showing up for a party? What the hell? F1 has lost it's way.

The merc pic looks OK actually, Perry.
I thought they looked OK - the main difference between the testing pic and the new cars is that the wheels won't be open-sided, they'll have covers to prevent air being channelled through them.

The wheel covers are part of the effort to clean up the wake and allow the car behind to follow closer and promote overtaking. The current F1 cars lose 35% of downforce at three car lengths behind and 47% at 1 car length, the new designs should reduce the downforce loss to 4% & 18% respectively.

Wheel trims are back, then! I presume the cable ties to hold them on will be made of carbon fibre :D
