Just spent the morning cleaning the Z4 and found these behind the passenger seat in the net holder! Looks like someone was touring round France in a brand new Z4 in 2007!!

You’ve now got me trying to remember when I last used a map

Although I use the sat nav to get there, I like a map to plan, especially when I’m on holiday in Europe where I don’t have the same concept of local geography.

I used a map 2 weeks ago.

Just wanted to get an idea of the shortest route to a known destination - that way I didn't have to suffer the Garmin lady's accent.

So, let me get this right, it has taken 11 years for you to move the seats to properly clean the car??

What's sat nav. :? Mine never worked well enough to bother using it. :P I have a AA road map of Britain wedged between the passenger seat and the transmission tunnel. Just in case I forget a route. :D I will be fuked if they ever get rid of road signs though.

Just bought the car in November pal!
:tumbleweed:

Was never any good at map reading as a kid I did use to plan some driving routes with them but then found Via Michelin which was very helpful I used it for a 4 day trip around France just me and my Z was a bit tricky trying to turn the pages top down :D now days I have started using a sat nav and have to say its a lot easier as I do not have to keep stopping to check the next part of a route especially on country roads where there are fewer signs I just listen to the soft Irish accent as she tells me left or right but I still jot down on a piece of paper the basic part of the journey

Used to be the total opposite - satnavs were for noncing Jessie’s & half the fun, navigating for the ski drive, US or elsewhere was the challenge.

With so much traffic, junction complexity & restricted flow access, satnav’s are now a lifesaver... however they don’t always know best for shortcuts - to the extent I think my TOMTOM’s be learning some of my routes & now uses them
