Many issues, break for parts or fix?

I need a new roof motor too, mine is 100% toast, I'll ask if there's a bit of discount available for buying two if it's of interest and yours is caput too Matt. Probably going with a seller on the bay. No hurry.

Someone used a motor from a Citroen or Peugeot brand new and it was pennies compared to a BMW one. I think maybe £40 for one probably gone up a bit like everything has but still much cheaper than BMW.

I’ve used bmw mini pump motors they are usually cheaper than Z4…

I'm sure I read that roof motors can sometimes be revived after a soak in diesel!

I can't recall I saw it a long time ago and I'm trying to find it again but this guy used a ford Mustang Motor which was not only cheaper but more powerful and therefore faster at opening and closing.

Could be a worthwhile upgrade and for cheap.

Exactly! And until the electrical gremlin has been exorcised there's no point in looking at other stuff really.

Go for the ford Mustang Motor. It's more powerful so should in theory be more robust. If you know someone who lives in America I'm sure you could get them to pick one up from a ford dealer brand new for cheap and shipping won't be the end of the world if you get one cheap enough.
