Manual talk

The important words from the article are,

"the manual Z4 will likely be a bit slower than an M40i with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission"

No need to read any more :poke:

Just for America? or do the rest of drivers get this option too?

I hope so, I'd be very tempted

Just been reading this

Yup
That half a second to 60 is pretty damn relevant

Time to 60mph would depend on the gear ratio, the 8HP transmission would normally start in 2nd gear and probably reach 60 before it changed up, that would be hard to beat in a standard manual when a gear change was needed. There is no reason with different gearing the manual would be slower.
A modern automatic is great for road use, but ultimately it’s less controllable for competitive driving, on the track of course.

All that effort changing gears for less outcome. So last year :poke:

Very much alive to some peoples annoyance no doubt but at my age, who cares?

I’m enjoying still being coordinated enough to manage my own gear changes like I did last year.

The trimmers need a training day, or too, though. Looks like the inside of my Z3 ATM!
How is your project coming along? Haven’t heard anything for a while
Deal is done on the body and most of the parts. Got to pay for it all this week! :o
Should be picking up all the bits just after xmas, so can get on with it.

Spending most evenings at the minute just fecking about with bits. Tonight I am trying to separate the seats from the electric bases without damaging anything, as want to sell the seats.

Also trying to buy another car, which is not straightforward as I am having to speak to dealers! That's another story, though.

Do we know if this is just for the US market? The other tweaks sound pretty good, and I love that frozen green!
