Manual roof sealing

Hi
I have a 2005 2.0 basic with a manual hood. I seem to be getting some wind noise where the top RH side of the screen meets the hood. I can see a small chank of ligt on the drivers side. Does anyone know if this normal or can I make any ajustment on the locking mechanism to seal it?

I thought manual hood was US spec only. Manual roof was single skinned vs the triple skin auto hood IIRC, so not sure how many UK members will be able to help

Hmm I didn't think you could get a Manual roof & wondered if it had failed & been replaced, but it's listed on Real OEM so I guess on the early 2.0 it must have been an option..

ghawk, I see from your other post you also have problems with the rear screen heater as well, so both problems being connected to the roof, has it been damaged or badly re-fitted?

Some pics may help possibly identify your issue.

At least you'll never have to worry about your roof motor going

It was an option on the pre-facelift 2.0 but I think this is the first one we've seen on here. TBH I didn't think any existed in the UK.

I suppose Its not possible that manual roof has be fitted in place of a busted power roof.....is it? :|

With you there Mike. I'd have put money on there being no such OEM version actually in the UK.

Its a tripple skin hood - As its second hand I cannot confirm it but thought it was uK spec.
An elec hood would be nice but lots of topics on the troubles that go with them.

I'm pretty sure the triple skinned hood has only ever been available with power in any market, including the US. This sounds horribly like you've been given duff info about the spec' and have a car that should have a working power roof. Have you got the roof buttons or suspicious blanks where they should be ahead of the gear change, manual roof cars don't have them?

Hi Chaps, I can confirm that manual hood versions are in the U.K. as I have one.
I thought that mine may have been originally powered before buying it recently. Having just replaced the centre lock (£80 and made from plastic) I realise why the last owner broke it. The roof is hard to latch down, also the screen heater is not working so will find out if that is related.
Can anyone recommend a place down south where I can get the roof looked at? Please don't say Snow's.
As for roof adjustments, be careful if going down the D.I. Y. route. I had a look today when operating the centre open/close handle (#23 on diagram) through the plastic trim. Looks like two solid adjustable linkage bars which connect either side to the release hooks. Even just taking the centre handle off looks as though it could be a pita when refitting it as it's spring loaded. Can you let me know how you get on ghawk?
