Man cabin filter direction

Hi.
While waiting for my e89 to come back with rebuilt diff.I bought a man cabin filter there seems to be a bit of confusion with there arrows .no mention in instructions.
Does anyone know with a MAN filter which way the arrows should point thankyou

The arrow goes with the direction of the airflow in any fitment, when you take out the old one the dirty side was obviously the flow in, clean side flow out. Probably requires the arrow going up in most fitments as air comes in and up in to the dash pipework.

Thankyou dirty side is the inflow ime so thick at times.
