We have a colleague in Guangzhou (China's largest city, close to Honk Kong) who's in in hospital with complications (a stroke unfortunately) brought on by COVID-19 and an undiagnosed existing condition. We're on regular calls with our other colleagues in the affected areas, and the first thing out of our mouths is to ask about their health & well-being.

I have a previous conviction for punching some little piece of sh*t and his friends that was robbing and kicking a young Burmese student at a bus stop because he was foreign, and I'd do it again.

Scouse Dave, recently retired from our place at 67 years young. Just prior to his retirement a young lad tried to mug him and nick his wallet. A good Samaritan stopped the mugger as Dave was chasing him. Dave jumped on him and didn't stop punching him until his knuckles were raw. He showed me them, they took months to heel. His missus was trying to pull him off when the police arrived. The young idiot was apparently a serial mugger who specialised on mugging the elderly and known to them. Cut a long story short Dave got thanked by the police. Mugger got banged up.

There is still some justice in the world.
