Finally got my car up to my OCD standard - cost me about £280 on top of what I paid for the car ( top money £9k ) but worth it :
£80 to remove all dints
£80 to have rear quarter wing rubbed down and buffed up to match the rest of the car.
£120 to redo the front bumper - when I bought the car it had a minor scrape that the dealer repaired before I collected - from a standing viewpoint looked all right but on closer inspection they only painted what you could see and missed the bits that you would have to lay on the ground and look up to see ( told you I have OCD !!!! )
I finally have a car that is free from any dints , scrapes , wheel kerbs or leather wear with 29k miles and a 3 litre engine !
Even with all this its probably lost £2k in value since I bought it in July but what the heck - it looks spot on !
I've nothing against modding but for me I like to keep a car as near to original as possible so I'll keep the turbines ! There has been suggestions that the Z4 will become a modern classic - whilst its nice to subscribe to this view I cant see this happening to such a massed produced car but I think they always will be sought after because of their looks and performance.
The danger with me is that I'll go down the same road ( good pun ) as my previous toy and not use it - I've only done 250 miles in the past 2 1/2 months but still get a lot of pleasure just looking at it - sad bastard that I am !!
