Has anyone made a make shift hard top stand? The dealer wants to sell me one for like $550

Thing is I can carry the hard top myself, but more than one occasion i had some close calls so to roll the roof would be a lot more practical. also i am currently storing the roof on an old couch i dont need but i will be redecorating and i need to throw the couch away so i need a better way to store it.

I was just wondering, has anyone made their own hard top storage? If yes can you point me to some pictures of instructions on how to make one?

thanks

Check Ebay, there is a vendor that sells one for $99 I believe that several Z4 owners have given  to.
Quick search only turned this one up, you should be able to make something similar our of wood and dolly's.

Looks like you have a good start,,,,just add wheels to the couch :D

Honestly, I would imagine that any metal fabricators in the area shoud be able to gen one up for you just off a pic and some rough measurements.

Have you seen the cover bags they come with? They fit the hood and you can simply hang it on a wall, assuming you can fit IIRC a 100kg permanent point.

i have that hardtop cart from ebay. Works great and built very sturdy. It even comes with a hardtop cover that's easy to put on the hardtop.

BTW, I have my OEM hardtop cover for sale if anyone needs one.
