Hello All,

I am in the look out for a 2011 BMW Z4 sDrive30i and was able to find a white one with 85,000 miles for $16,981. Now my question is to people owning Z4's what they spend yearly on maintenance. Just trying to get as much data as possible from other Z4 owners to make my decision on buying this particular Z4. The last thing I want is to not be able to afford the maintenance on it.

Thank you all in advanced!

I've owned my 2010 sDrive 3.0i for just over 6 months. It had done just over 35000 miles when purchased. I have spent on it so far:

Oil service & coolant replace £160.00 (at an Independent BMW Specialist)
Cabin Filter & fitting £24.00
Hunter Wheel alignment £70.00
Boot emblem £45.00
Wheel centre caps £39.00
New Battery £140
Tyre sealant £11.00 (to carry in the boot (trunk) as the tyres are now not run flats)
Brake light bulbs £5.00
New 19inch wheels & tyres £1140
Machine polish & ceramic coating £100

Apart from a new Z4 badge for the boot the car is now as I want it. The new parts were of course my choice. Barring any failure I do not anticipate spending any more than £600 to £1000 over the next 12 months on any servicing costs that may become due.

Ive got a 23i and Ive had it for four years. The car is a 2009 and had 13,000 miles when I got it, its now at 29,000. Every year I get an oil and brake fluid change (local BMW dealer approx £218), they soon let you know if they spot anything else. BMW's Uk website lets you see the cost of service items and then you can cherry pick whats needed, dependant on your model and mileage. I replace the air filter and cabin filter myself (approx £30 for both). In the four years Ive had it the only other things Ive had to change are the rear brake pads (BMW wanted £175 my trusted mechanic £85) and new tyres.

This thread ought to help as I would expect costs for an E89 30i to be similar to an E85/86 3.0Si, seeing as they have the same engine!

Oh, and I think the quote Steviep351 mentions is for a DCT gearbox - it wouldn't cost anything like that on a manual box.

You didn't say if your were going to any of this work yourself? Most of the work is simple DIY. For instance, oil change is about $40 us.

Just my 2 cents, I would negotiate that price. My 2011 E89 with MSport package with 34,000 miles was $20,500 from a BMW dealer last August. With 85K on the odometer your coming up on front brakes and not far away from a coolant flush. What condition are the tires and was it garage kept? I would be offering more in the range of $18.5k to a dealer and $16K private seller.
