Main Dealer now charges for loan car

Ok so this I found truly shocking.

Seems that Stephen James BMW now charge £20 per day for a loan car.

Am I mistaken to think that as a prestige brand they shouldn't be doing that?

I have promptly notified them that I will have to use a different dealer for my servicing which is closer and doesn't charge for a loan car!

Is it for the car or the insurance cost to cover the car?

I’m pretty sure it’s for insurance cover, pretty damn steep nonetheless.

BMW seem to be going out of their way to become THE worst dealers possible. Joke servicing, mega costs, and they employ the lowest light bulbs they can get hold of. Pathetic and ridiculous for the prices they charge. :x

I had to pay for a courtesy car from Jaguar when i had my XKR in for some warranty work.

£12 a day for an F type was fine by me though.

Sytner were charging me for a courtesy car back in 2006, so you struggle to find a main dealer that doesn't charge!

It didn't say it was for insurance, but just their charge rate. They charge £20 for a collection too!

£12 for a F-type I will happily pay! ;-)

Mercedes, Audi, Porsche don't charge for loan cars.

My car was in for 1.5 days and that cost me £40.

I think this is just poor service. Its a premium brand and they really don't provide a premium service. Honestly I called before xmas and waited for a call back that I never got.

BMW Bath haven’t got this low but they may aswell, absolutely terrible service. 10 week wait for a courtesy car, and it’ll be a base spec mini at best. Absolute joke.

That'll have 'em quaking in their boots.

Not reading any thing new in this thread. Stealers is what they is.
No, they isn't.

Expensive for some things, yep, but thieves, nope.
We will have to disagree on that one. I stick by my first statement. :)

Well they didnt change the oil or air filter on my black 35is and charged me for doing so, that makes it theft, and you can bet your arse I’m not the first one they’ve done it too. Thieving fuckers. :x

The amount of “dealer maintained” cars we see that have never had a filter changed is incredible ..

We recently did a 6 series that had dealer history ... when removing the oil filter it literally fell to pieces, but the date of manufacture was still readable which happened to be 2 months before the cars registration date .Car was 2013

I find it ridiculous that BMW now charge for loan cars and don’t offer a pick up service anymore either when my wife’s Hyundai dealer offers all this and more! I’ll

Meant to be £15 a day at mine, clearly says for insurance, but that could just be a lie to deflect the blame from them being greedy.

What really gets me is that this applies for warranty work as well. Surely the warranty should cover this as part of the err...warranty!

However, I think they've only charged me a couple of times.

The loan cars I get are normally Mini's. Although last one as a Cooper Sd, which went like sh*t off a stick!

Did get them to drop me off at work once. They didn't charge. Had 3 customers in an i3 going different places like a taxi.

Well, one can only vote with their feet. Consideringy 35is is coming to the end of contract and I’m looking at a z4 i40 then it is costing them. I can’t help if they care or not.

Never had this with my main dealer in Glasgow. I have always been given an almost new i3 at no charge when my car has been with them for service or repairs.
