I tried a bit of carefully cut tape and I think it looks ok, I'll try it tonight.

I did this for my airbag light which was on at the time on my MOT. Passed with no problems, then removed and bought the software to turn the light off.

Should have just taken it to Marius for the MOT, he would have passed it no problem!

I don't need to do MOT's to 'know' just the ability to read.

I really don't care if a light is required or not, or if someone passed an MOT without one, but if there's a thread on it and people ask advice I'd like to ensure that it is correct.

If you can post a reference to a current rule or regulation that shows that no tell tale light showing is not a reason for an MOT fail, then I'll of course accept you're correct. Until then I'll call 'bullshit' and leave people to decide if you or the gov.uk sites are correct
