magnetic key box

Has anyone found a magnetic key box that is big enough for your spare key? I'd like to keep it hidden under the car like I do my truck but I can't seem to find one big enough.
If someone has one, please let me know where you purchased it and what brand it is.
Thanks y'all,
T.

I've found several magnetic key boxes along the side of the road over the years. I wouldn't trust them, myself. I think you'd be better off with some duct tape. :P

Take your small plastic key and duct tape it to the back of your license plate...

Friend of mine did that with his brand new (used) porsche 911.

Several of us were waiting for him and decided to screw with him, so we checked, there was the key, and we moved his car over 3 spaces. He wasn't amused.

I carry my plastic key in the watch pocket of my jeans.

That brings up a question I've had. I tried turning the plastic key to the start position, felt like the key would break. Do you feel pretty confident it is strong enough?

...or find a more creative place to hide it... :P

It only for an emergency. I felt the same way when I used it to open the door. Mine works fine but I wouldn't use it regularly.

I've had the same magnetic key box on my Silverado for 19 years! I think what may happen, is that people don't clean the undercarriage of their vehicles. When mud/debris gets caked under there, the magnet part of the box is bound to fall off. Of course, 19 years ago they made them with huge, strong magnets. The ones today are a bit whimpy. I don't have a plastic key anyway so what do I have to lose?
Anyone knows where I can find one?

But the Z4 is pretty low compared to most street cars. If you put a magnetic box under the car, it just might be knocked off when you go over a bump.

If I were to hide my plastic key, I'd hide it behind the front fender side roundels. It only takes 3 seconds to twist off the side roundels. (and no I don't hide my plastic key anywhere on/near my M for those of you who know where I live :P )

I don't go over bumps that large, or that fast - at least not by choice . I hide my boxes up and in, not right on the outside. Anything is possible I guess, like say if I were hit by a tractor-trailer, I suppose it'd knock it off probably
I'll keep looking

I hide my spare key in my wife's purse when travelling around the country. Other than that, I hide it in the house..
