MAF Sensor location......?

Following on from the previous thread about poor fuel econonmy in a 3.0, appears I have been pointed in the direction of the MAF sensor. That is, the MAF sensor should be cleaned every now and then or a poor fuel/air mix may be sent into the engine resulting in crappy MPG.

So, does anyone know where the MAF sensor is on a 3.0 and how to remove it?

Unless your car is "throwing codes" (or you have an over-oiled K&N filter installed) your MAF is probably just fine.
Be very careful on cleaning a MAF. The sensor is very sensitive to contamination.

That being said, cleaning it is cheaper than replacing it. So it is worth a try.

The MAF is plugged into the intake tube going from the air filter to the throttle body. (sorry, don't have a picture of your engine handy)

I had the same problem with fuel consumption. I found that my upstream O2 sensors were bad, but not throwing a CEL light... read over this post..

Oh, after the replacement, I now get 31MPG at 78MPH....
