Madeleine McCann

there was another man seen carrying a child further away in the town.

Kidnappers/child abductors who are good enough to covertly watch and plan and then subsequently enter a room, kidnap a child and make their getaway without leaving so much as a single shred of forensic evidence and not get caught for 6 years simply wouldn't get spotted carrying a child around town.

I know, she'd have been put in a car waiting just around the corner.
What I was getting at was there was probably a few men carrying kids who have fallen asleep that night and most nights in fact.
It could've been Madeleine but most probably wasn't.

On a side note Carol, I like your new avatar better than your last one with boobies all over the place :)

Well, I didn't want to come out and say it, like Ste says, you have to be careful what you write on the internet these days.
The parents say the children hadn't been given any sedatives by them but the fact the twins didn't bat so much as an eyelid during all the aftermath.....???
It's impossible for an intruder to have had time to have drugged them and quietly got away with it and chloroform wouldn't have been a viable explanation as it makes you sick and leaves burns on the face, so I've read anyway.
I tried to be quite careful about the wording of my post - I just made some linked statements (all verifiable) and then asked a question...

My boobies are offending Kryton.
A man who is getting too old to appreciate a nice pair of boobies should call in someone to measure him up for a wooden overcoat... :P

The theory that he/her/they did it makes absolutely no sense. There has been every opportunity for the search to quietly fade to everyones memory yet they have actively tried to keep the search going in the hope that one day they will find her. Why would you do that if further investigation MIGHT reveal that MAYBE you did it.

As a parent of 2 very difficult (my own parents description of them) children I know how they can push you to the very limit. You just couldn't though. It's beyond imagination.

That may well be true, but one element is something you can't get away from - who leaves their children by themselves, especially abroad?
Exactly right...

They seem to revel in the attention... so, playing Devil's Advocate, I could say it's become an extreme variation on Münchausen by proxy...

A cynic may suggest for financial or other gain. But a more realistic and possible motive for that is that very quickly there was no way back and like it or not they are and will be for the rest of their life the parents of the girl who went missing. Once they'd said she'd gone missing and it had gone worldwide they can hardly just give up and go back to normal life whether they did it or not...

I don't think the suggestion in any circles is that they outright murdered/sold/purposely caused their deaths, but i don't think it can be ruled out that they covered up/caused/led to an accident that resulted in her sad accidental death.

Yes, we have, but what irks me is that they have never admitted they made a mistake and say they are not at fault. I think this is what lost them quite a bit of sympathy.

I live in Rothley in the next road from them and even now the village is pretty much split between those that feel sorry for them and those that feel they should have been punished for leaving their kids alone. Some may say they live their punishment every day they wake up!

It's not that it's just that they look...er ...how can I say this.... a bit big,..... and I like smaller ones  , however I'm sure your boobies stand proud wherever they go in the world.

I just thought your new Avatar made you look more sophisticated than the other one.

Phew I think I got out of that one

I don't know enough about the Madeleine McCann case to have a meaningful view as to what really happened. And I have no idea whether she is still alive or not. Nor do I have children, so can't opine on whether it was acceptable to leave the children alone in the circumstances.

I do, however, question the amount of police and other resources that have been expended on this particular case. I don't know how many children go missing every year, but as one of the tax payers who has funded the whole operation, I'd like to think that EVERY missing child gets an equal amount of police time and attention, rather than so much being spent on one very high profile case.

There's a reason they look 'a bit big'. :|
Trust me, to compared to one of my friends/colleagues they are not big ! She has to get size 12 bikini bottoms but size 22 bikini tops.

Its never acceptable to leave children on their own.
