I wouldnt worry too much about it, he cant do much with your bank details (no passwords etc given to him).

Inform your bank so they can keep an eye on your account and all should be fine.

Ash

Don,t you remember Clarkson publishing his bank details in a newspaper to prove they couldn,mt be used fraudulently ?
Only for some smartarse to set up a monthly charity donation on his behalf :D
This aint funny for Nova but the villains can do all sorts of things with the merest of information

Basic details for anyone can be freely available I think it depends what Nova meant when he said ALL his bank details, account and sort code numbers shouldnt be a security risk? passwords given out etc would agree I would be worrying lol.

Not necessarily true, with that info (espesh if he has your dob or could take a stab at it from your gumtree user name for example), he could set up direct debits and apply for credit cards with a degree of success - it's not just about nicking money from said account directly, but using it to gain access to more money you don't know you've committed to..

I'd be running a credit check in about a month's time, and any credit applications you didn't make need to be flagged. not to scaremonger but I'd also check that there are no mail redirections setup on your address.. In theory with that info a would be theif could set up mail redirection, apply for a ton of credit cards, have them redirected to a pobox or false address that he has access to, blamo, run up lots of debt..

Well ive set up an account with CIFAS who will monitor everything to do with my credit score. I also contacted experian and printed out my current report and score. Also got them to put a password on my name so anyone asking for credit in my name will have to supply the password. Also informed action fraud. Bank said all that they could do is set up a direct debit, and these are covered by the direct debit act.

I worry more about them knowing my address.

Don't be too hard on herself fella, everyone makes mistakes. I made a mistake on 3 rd August 1968, can't remember exactly what it was, but I was only 3 years old at the time and everyone is allowed one mistake, no?
