Mad to sell Z4M & F56 JCW for F10 M5?

You should have a go in a C63 and an M5.....Just for comparisons sake i guess...... Although the E63 is Mercs direct comparison to M5.

My mate has a mapped F10 and it is very very quick.....And it is comfortable, but visually it does nothing for me.

Seems the E & C 63 varieties have a lot more pops & bangs about them on gear changes, one reason I fell in love with my F56 JCW with the Bluetooth exhaust - still never got fed up with the childish nature of it, M5 seems more grown up than the Merc options, so who knows!

The noise is bombastic, no comparison.

M5 is quicker but 500bhp is but a £500 remap away on the 6.2. Seats are super huggy in the C63 and its hydraulic steering is lovely. Another reason I've moved away from BMW is that the C63 comes in an estate version.

My C63 runs 520+ BHP pretty consistently with V5 map and secondary cat delete...

Noise is incredible, crackles and pops on the overun in sport mode are addictive.

Sold my z4m very recently and for an F10. C63 is fun but the M5 a more complete proposition and less juicy on a longer trip and price wise there's nothing in it if you go after a facelift ppp. Do it. They are amazing! E39 been there and done that but really they are far too old now for a DD and the game really has moved on with the F10. The acceleration and all usability is outstanding. In this weather those wheels spin up a fair bit! Needless to say every drive is still special but there's a massive dose of practicality for the daily grind, with amusement just a prod of the accelerator away...ps mod the valves and the exhaust is pretty good stock ;)

Interesting, thank you. I’m not even at the mods stage but will investigate. I’ve read a lot about the TC light appearing in this weather & resultant wear of the rear brakes.

A lot will depend on where the new job / contract is. If I end up driving from reading to St Albans again, any V8 is going to be a challenge.

Can’t remeber if I mentioned the other option which is a 5.0 Mustang. A childhood dream, but unsure if I can return to a ford build quality vs BMW. But OMG they just sound amazing!

It looks like I'm a bit late to this thread, but I have an F10 M5 "daily" along with my ZMR and if I had to choose one to keep, it'd be the Z every time. The M5 is a great car, but there's just something extra special about the ZMR which I don't think the F10 M5 will ever have. Also, if you're wanting a proper V8 sound, then I'd probably look at something else anyway, I find the M5 a quite lacking in that department.

Another option to consider for a good V8 is the Jag XFR, I had two and absolutely loved them, get an aftermarket exhaust (I went Spires) on them and they sound fantastic too :) I honestly almost bought a 3rd, but decided that it three in a row was too many, especially as I'd had an XF 3.0d S before the XFR.

Cheers, never too late - well not until I've purchased the new one!

I do love the Z, always something of an occasion getting into it (and not just due to the garage being really small!), its old school & needs to be worked to deliver the power, whereas part of me does find modern turbos a bit 'fast but no skill required to achieve it'

Mustang might be the options then - like the XF but 2 friends have one, so cant really do that!

My mate at work had a modified C63 and it's a great car, but I still prefer my V8 Vantage N420 even though I can't keep up with him :)
