Z4M sits as a fair weather, summer only weekend toy for me, garaged and under a cover most of the time. It’s a special event to get it out and drive, old school in a good way. Plus low depreciation.
However I’ve always wanted an M5, can’t really justify investing extra cash into the car pool by just selling the JCW, so an all or nothing move on my part. Head says financially stupid to do it, but the heart is weak when it comes to the M5 - a car I’ve wanted through the generations from E39, E60 and into the F10. I’ve had a 520d (yay!) in each of the guises but never really touched the M desire, obviously.
Z4M is 2007 c.24k miles, JCW is 66 plate and 19k miles as my last consulting role wasn’t local, but looking to move away from consulting to employed status only 10 miles from home.
Ideally I’d love the Z4 as a weekend toy & M5 as daily, but just not going to happen! Other alternative is a 5.0 Mustang, but think the M5 is going to significantly more capable.
Any views or thoughts on my mental state in buying a higher depreciating car rathe than keep the Z as a play thing?
Matt
