Machine polishers

Guys and gals, my arm feels like it wants to drop off when I polish and wax which is why I'm looking at learning to machine polish. I've looked at them and I'm so confused! What the difference between a das6 and das21. I don't want to spend a fortune to start with, but also if a das6 is the way to start what on earth are the difference between them!? These dodo juice, autobrite models names I've never heard of loads! Thanks in advance.

Das6's are great little entry level machines, easy to use and safe more importantly, just remember you will need to factor in the cost of pads and polish which can easily double the price of the machine, The Das21 and the likes are all the same machine just rebranded for differing retailers, they are a fair bit more powerful a correct quicker but to a hobbyist are they worth the extra, only you can answer that.
Also it strikes me you think polishing your car will be easier on your arms and quicker with a machine, trust me it won't, the level of finish will obviously be far better but to get there is not easy or quick.

I have a DAS 6 Pro and its a great bit of kit, easy to use and gets good results (even for an amature like myself) :)

I had a das 6 pro.. It was great but had to work hard when the paint was tough..

Bought a Das21.. It's a lot more robust and will correct paintwork faster.. But it is a bigger machine and struggles to get into the tighter spots..

But it does offer a better quality of correction..

If I was you I would start with a das6 pro and see if you enjoy doing the work.. As said, it's not easy... But the results are ten fold what hand polishing can achieve.

DAS-6 Pro and Meguiars Microfibre pads+polishes is a winning combination for me. Works so much faster than the same machine and foam pads (having tried a fair few foam pad & polish combinations on bmw and vw hard paints).

Are there any differences between the 500w DAS6 from brand to brand? There is a "Dodo Juice" branded DAS6 on Amazon for £91 - where would people recommend buying one from?

The Meguiars Microfibre pads are c£19 for 2 - is that a good price?

Although not in the same league, has anyone tried the polishers from Halfords? Was looking for something just to make the job a little easier on the arms and shouldersand they have a small one at £31 and a larger two handed job at £49?
Also being a novice when it comes to machine polishing do the pads fit all polishers and I am presuming there are different ones for application to buffing.

Thanks guys, so the das6 seems like a good way to start...

Now to the pads, this may sound thick but what pads do I use?

I went with the kit form Clean Your Car. Had a healthy amount of points accumulated so also got a tidy discount on it too.

The DAS6 Pro is a great piece of kit, I use mine for buffing off sealants but no longer need it, so I am looking at selling mine which is in great condition for £100 including 4 pads (2heavy and 2medium) and a all in one unopened polish.
