Machine polish plan for newbie: Finished

Twin Turbo

Hi,

I have an 1 yr old Z4 Alpine White, with little/none hardly any swerlls so no paint correction needed, I am looking for an improvement its gloss finish for summer.

I have in the man cave

1 x menzerna PF2500
1 x menzerna SF4500

I am planning in washing and claying the car, and to use SF4500

Is this recommended?

I am then planning in purchasing some Poorboys White Diamond Show Car Glaze For Light Coloured Cars?

Do I need to do both, or just use the SF4500?

Then I was going to purchase some wax, as I have some Britemax - Vantage Paste Wax but for summer I was looking for something more suited for the look and thought about Dodo Juice Diamond White?

Many thanks in advance

You probably do have swirls, just can't see them. strip the existing wax/product off the car with a wash in Dish soap. This strips product off quickly to give you bare paint, or naked paint as people call it, good time to clay the car then.

Once you've inspected the paint under a good light you'll no doubt see some swirls. If you do, go down the menzerna route to get rid of them ( what machine you using?)

The level of gloss and shine is from the prep, not the wax as such. White diamond isn't a bad product but has lots of fillers. I use black hole ( even though I have Ti silver ) as I don't believe it makes a difference what colour you have. Choose a good wax with longevity or a sealant + wax if you want.

I use Collonite £845 ( superb wax with months of protection and beading )

Oh... quick question... If it really has no swirls... why machine? you only need to machine to correct paint. if you don't need to correct just buy a good sealant to wax.

Thanks for the response,

I have an plan:-

I have purchased an clay towel - so going to try that and test with plastic bag

Then use SF4500 on an finishing pad, and work onto more coarse pads and look at the results - as I am looking for reflection and gloss. Henc why thinking of having an glaze before waxing?

I have an DAS-6 PRO Dual Action Polisher

I also have jetseal and I have some Britemax - Vantage Paste Wax in my goodies bag :)

you need to work from coarse pad ( cutting pad ) to finishing pad, no the other way around. Enjoy the cleaning :)

I think he means he's going to try with the least aggressive option first and see what results that gives. If that achieves the desired result that's actually the correct way to do it. If it doesn't then you go more aggressive before then coming back the other way again with going finer.

Some photos after 5 hours, not the best sun so reflections not great.
