Machine monkeys zed

Another option which I went with for my facelift bumper: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=297133 post #6. My current lips are the same configuration but thinner due to clearance problems after lowering. These are abs plastic and can take some abuse.

Maybe more like this?

Love the ears, not sure about the tongue.

I'd prefer a DTM splitter all the way across the bottom in place of the tongue

I defiantly want to do something with the front. Agree the ears are nice the tongue is not quite right. I am not sure how much lower I can go with the bumper and my driveway!!!!

So started work on the car today. After checking a few things it is defiantly the throttle body
Still know what the problem is and a fairly easy fix. Costing 200 + VAT could probably have got it cheaper. But want it tomorrow haven't driven her for 2 weeks now.

Front discs have been changed to my new grooved ones. Callipers have been painted fit tomorrow and do the rear discs and pads after a drive. Changing the gearbox and diff oil as well and new break fluid.

I will take some picks tomorrow and post them up.

He he I am guessing we are talking about the driver....

Thanks Stuart my service book is. Shall we say less than complete. It was the only way bar buying a cat c or d I could get a zed. So I knew I was going to give her a good looking over and treat her to some new fluids. I I'd wast some of the maintenance budget on some shine new wheels!!?

So fitted the throttle body very easy. Started the car up and it runs perfect cleard error codes and all was good. I then I had the traction control light come on the oil light but there is oil in it? And the traction control light! Also my power steering has stopped working  I was thinking it might be the battery but the alternator is working fine. It has been sat for a while so hopefully it's just flat and a charge will fix it!!

There was a note on the paper work with the throttle body that it might need programming. Or setting up with the car. I am going to try resetting the throttle and hope that the charging the battery fixes it!! Otherwise I guess I have to find a good Indy!!

If anyone has any advice or ideas I would love to hear it. The oil changes didn't get done so next week I will be changing all the fluids. Brakes are all done with new fluid.

Glad things are moving forward Mm & admire your willingness & enthusiasm to tackle the jobs :
Not through laziness i just prefer to pay to have any work done to avoid the frustration's you are experiencing
& also notice a distinct lack of pictures :D c'mon lets see some action

They feel like they are going backwards at the moment mr Wilks. That's the frustrations your talking of and I know them well. This is tricky to say without it sounding like I am begging for sympathy. But I can't really afford this to own this car! So i am doing it all because I have to. I should be working on it today but I spent 8 hrs on it yesterday and I have had enough...

Sorry about the lack of pictures. I haven't taken as many as I should. And I have not worked out how to post them with my iPad. That might be a job for today.

So I have had to bite the built and my car is at n Indy. They specialise in German cars and electrical faults. They seem really good loads of calling around this morning and stumbled across them. Actually after I described my problems another garage recommended them.

They said they would take a look tomorrow when I was on the phone. When I dropped the car off they had got on better than they thought. And started looking straight away. Turns out all my problems are caused by one thing. There is a problem with the can network. I already knew this form diagnostics that my bro done. Basically it's wiring problems dash talking to various other ecu or electronic parts.

So the abs power steering traction control everything..... Fingers crossed it will not cost too much!!!

Any one want any gear knobs or other bits I am making. Think I might need some extra £££££££

+1. If you can make something similar to the Alutec ones I don't think you'll be able to make them fast enough

Thanks mr Wilks I missed a call from them earlier. Hopefully good news.....

Easing myself back into work tomorrow and Friday. I have a few custom gear knobs to do. One for an SMG and a plastic one. A few bits of jewellery to fix for family and friends. Then next week if my zed is back to take measurements off. I will start work on them. Where the Alutec ones a 3 pice unit. 1 across the engine then 2 bits to replace the standard braces to the bulk head? There are pictures in an old thread I will take a look.

AMAZING i get my car back all fixed £150+ VAT

And the cause of the problem.........................................................f**king mice had eaten through a load of wires!!!!!!
