Steve84N said:I'll be interested to see how you get on with the flywheel as I was at Birds today for my LSD and the owner Kevin tried one but didn't get on with it. The first one caused something to break so they sent him another one and they'd changed how it mounts. He still ended up taking it off, not sure exactly why as I was told via Ian the workshop manager. On a 3 series but same principle.
Steve84N said:I didn't get much chance to try it out due to the deluge and busy roads but it's easy to invoke a lock up if you want one plus traction off the line is awesome. If you want more feedback you could try ringing Birds but if you've got it fitted you'll soon know yourself if it's any good. Fingers crossed you've got the updated version that mounts better.
Steve84N said:I fancy a lightweight flywheel too but it is my daily so I will see how you find it first.
I did suspension to B12 only on Friday so I too will need some time to truly tell the difference from each upgrade.

Mine is 100% not a daily car. Although I have done more miles in it over the last year than i ever have.

How's little monkey getting on?
What's the TT's replacement?
kis said:Been reading this for a while now! As you can imagine I had quite some catching up to do! I wouldn't say I've read through it comprehensively but got a good feel for the car and it's progression over the course of ownership! Glad you didn't sell and it's still a WIP. Turbo still on the cards? Impressed that you always like to try something different, making it yours. Making it unique, spoiler being a good example! New Q5? Where are our pics?? Congrats with the little monkey and look forward to following the progress till you're back on he road in spring! Kis.

That is quite an undertaking reading all that drivel  Your right the car has evolved and progressed as my ability and confidence has increased. Also after doing track days drift days and finding an area that i want improving. And then finding a solution and doing it have been all part of the fun. There are not many off the shelf parts. And i dont have huge amounts invested in it. As was the plan all along i am glad i have stuck to that. Yes there will still be a turbo in the future. The exhaust I am building is to help that out once its installed.
I dont have any good pictures of the Q5 been too busy and its been to wet and horrid to get any!!. It looks like this picture off the internet.
Machine monkey said:I think your right it will never be finished!! Although I think I will be moving on to another z4 project after this is done all being well. I fancy a v8 fully caged race built but road legal coupe next. But that's probably a 10 years or so away!?
