mac book pro advice pls

im fast seeing this thing ia very serious.... i love it... completely forgot about windows already, just love the mac book pro..... the ali body is insane cool but i do find the edges sharp and it seems to cut into my wrist alittle, a minor gripe, need to get into a mac store to get some bits for it, mouse ect ect i wont lie however its taking time for me to learn the mac OS. im watching all the tutuorials ect ect
i can see the cover of this thing will easily become scratched and damaged so ill invest in a clip on case for it, other than that i LOVE it.

If you want the apple magic mouse I have one I can sell you. I got it with my iMac 6 months ago but I've never used it since I have a nice Logitech mouse which suits my hand better.

Another option for running windows is dual booting. I set it up on my iMac so I could run 3ds Max, its very simple if you have a windows disk. The mac OS has something called bootcamp in it, it will burn a disc or create a USB stick with all the drivers for the system, you put in the windows disc when it tells you, then the drivers disc, it's as simple as can be. When done, you just hold down the alt key when powering up. Within windows there's also a little icon in the system tray that will allow you to boot quickly into mac mode.

It's always been a rumour that de-fraging the disk on an Apple computer can slow it down beacause of the way the operating system works.

Probably doesn't need it because it was designed properly! :P

ps. Don't spoil a Mac by putting Windows on it! :P

Try Apple's touchpad first before a mouse, you might prefer that. Slightly more expensive but you can do the action like two fingers, three fingers and swipe on the touchpad.

Slightly more expensive but more user friendly.

New Mac book due soon

So I guess 2 choices; possibly pick up a good deal on a current model, or hold out for the new one.

No need to defrag on a Mac. The OS does it on the fly as part of its maintenance script schedule which run daily, weekly and monthly. If the computer's on in the wee small hours it'll run them then, otherwise they'll run when you switch on. You won't notice them happening. If you wish you can run them manually using terminal. Here's a guide: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/maintscripts.html
