Does anyone know anything about the 4.4 twin turbo V8 fitted to the later M6?
As this is a BMW forum, I thought there maybe someone who knows. Any known issues?

Think that is the same as in my X5M, 575 bhp.

Touch wood, no issues at all. Rather,uh, quick :D :D

That is what mine is. Fantastic engine, and even in the X5 it is quicker than my Porsche

M6 - you will buy a VXR Corsa
Just cos you've got to spend your money on expensive bathroom tiles. Been there done that; many, many times

Did I mention the sound yet?
No but please tell. I will admit the noise of the V8 and I have a child-like hankering for 4 exhausts, while that is still allowed, is one of my main reasons for looking at them. And the 6 series is a pretty car. :D

I have spent the last six months "umming and erring" about what car I want. I bought the chav-mobile as a sensible compromise.
As it turned out, I have made good money on it, so I now want a car that I really want, not need. The M6 vert ticks all those boxes and sod the depreciation and running costs. :D

Thats the way to be Les - only here once and it is not a dress rehearsal, you can't take it with you so just enjoy it while you can

Yep - I always try to be sensible but when it comes to cars then screw it, its my hobby so I buy what I want when I can, the only reason I don't have a 35iS is that I am refusing a house big time and its bloody annoying as Tiglon has my sodding car

Just bloody buy and enjoy the hell out of it - that Focus is made for 30 year old boy racers who need to get to the waste recycling centre in a hurry, great car but not exciting to me

My plan is to get the ball-and-chain to take to an M6 vert, then I can sell the Z4 too and will be back with just the three cars:o

Looking forward to your new thread when you buy your new skoda octavia wagon.

:poke:

The 4.4 litre engine is a sweet motor. It was in my F10 M5 and is still basically the same motor in today's M5, M550i, Alpina B5 and others.

Hope you don’t mind me joining in this thread.

I’m close to agreeing a deal on a F90 M5 to replace my X5 as a daily. Hoping to close the deal tomorrow. A little apprehensive as I’ve not owned such an expensive and powerful car before.

Good to hear so many positive comments about the 4.4 V8.
